note3 is a decentralized note-taking app. Notes form a tree; a tree can be
shared as an IPNS name (k51qzi…), and a link like
https://note3.app/#/block/9d6f2b3?share=k51qzi… carries both the block ID and the
share ID.
If you were handed a note3.app link and you cannot run JavaScript, you cannot read the tree
from this site — note3 is a client-side app that fetches its content from IPFS in the
browser. Use the n3 CLI instead. It reads a shared tree read-only, with no
account and no local setup:
nix shell --accept-flake-config git+https://gitlab.com/wovin/note3/n3-rs.git n3 tree "https://note3.app/#/?share=k51qzi..." -d 4
--accept-flake-config is not optional — it lets Nix use the project's
binary cache. Without it you compile the whole Rust project from source.
n3 tree prints 3 levels deep by default. A node whose children
were cut off is marked (N children). Never conclude “that’s the whole
tree” while such a marker is still in the output — expand it with
-d first.
